Seattle, here we come!

Beautiful.
That pretty much sums up Seattle.  I'll paint a picture for you -- if you are driving South on I-5 through Seattle, look to your right and you'll see the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, look to your left and you'll see Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains, look straight ahead and you'll see downtown, and look past downtown and you'll see Mount Rainier. If you do the same on I-75 in Dallas, you'll see flatness, cars and retail.  The weather cooperated the whole weekend, the sun even came out each day.

Back to our new home.  We fell in love with the quaint (but expensive) houses, cute neighborhoods, and lively downtown.  Our rental home is convenient to a bike route as well as a bus stop.  And, best of all, it's walking distance to the lake - perfect!  We can also walk to stores and restaurants (I'm particularly excited about being close to two running stores, a bike store, and a frozen yogurt store...I need to get a job so I can shop again!).

I didn't take too many sight-seeing photos from this weekend because we spent the WHOLE time looking for a place to live.  The rental market is so competitive there, we were thrilled, and very relieved, when we finally found a place at 5 pm the day we were leaving!  It's good to be a landlord in Seattle.

Will in Fremont

My Pumpkin-peanut curry from Tawon Thai - Fremont.

What's different about this photo...oh, that's right.
People here actually use their bikes to get around town!

We ate at Julia's on Broadway.
I had grilled cheese and tomato soup.
This is an area to go if you are into people-watching!

Seattle Space Needle in the distance.

Lake Washington and the Cascades in the distance.

Dinner at Cafe Lago in the Montlake neighborhood.

Pike's Place Market downtown.

This is where they throw the fish,
but we didn't see them do that.

Seattle is a working port, which I didn't realize.

$5.00 bunches of nice flowers!
If we lived there, I would have gotten some.
The original Starbucks.

Seattle Seahawks arena and Safeco Field.

Strolling along the shore of Lake Washington in Madison Park.

An 'ecstatic' Will.  Finally found our rental.
*In case you were wondering, yes, there is a coffee shop on every corner.  And, yes, most of them are a Starbucks.

Ready or not, here we come!
